130 decanters worldwide: ARC-54 is the second and final release in the ARC Series, made by Bowmore with Aston Martin. Distilled in November 1968 and left 54 years in the No.1 Vaults, latterly in a second-fill European oak sherry butt and a third-fill American oak hogshead. The two were then married to the golden ratio — 61.8% European oak against 38.2% American — and given a further 15 months together. The handblown decanter takes its lines from the Aston Martin Valkyrie, down to the full-length venturi tunnels that generate the hypercar's downforce.
Bowmore's tasting notes: syrupy vanilla, butterscotch and shortbread giving way to mango and peach, with orange zest and toasted oak; green apple, bergamot and lime on the palate, then salted caramel, ginger and cinnamon.

Producer profile
Bowmore is the oldest licensed distillery on Islay, standing on the shore of Loch Indaal. It is one of the few that still malts barley on its own floors — part of what it needs — dried over peat cut from the island's bogs and blended with mainland malt, which is why the spirit sits between the heaviest smoke of Islay's south coast and the lighter malts of its north.
