Distilled at Glenlivet on 3 February 1940 and drawn from cask 336 — which had held sherry before it was refilled — on 5 February 2025, eighty-five years later. Gordon & MacPhail, who filled the cask and bottled it, call it "the oldest single malt Scotch the world has ever seen". 125 decanters, at £125,000 on release.

George Smith had been distilling illegally in Glenlivet before the Excise Act made a licence possible. He took the first one in the parish, in 1824. What he made was different from his neighbours: a lighter, fruitier spirit than the regional norm, and it has stayed that way.
