Macallan Art is the Flower

The companion to The Tree of Life in The Macallan's Charles Rennie Mackintosh collaboration, and the one that takes its name from his own words: in a 1902 lecture on Seemliness he asked the arts and crafts community to offer the flowers of the art that is in you — art being, to him, the flower to life's green leaf. It was matured in sherry-seasoned European oak in recognition of his time in Europe, and both releases draw on the same 1902 stained-glass panel, The Spirit of the Rose.

The Macallan's tasting notes: raisin and fig, polished oak, cherry, almonds, orange and treacle; a palate of sweet oak, vanilla, ginger and apple with a wisp of tea leaf; a long, sweet, rich finish.
