The second in the Tales of The Macallan series, released in the distillery's 200th anniversary year and given to its founder, Alexander Reid — the teacher and farmer who established The Macallan at Easter Elchies in 1824 and held out for small stills when the trade was moving to larger ones. Distilled in 1949 and bottled in 2022, selected by lead whisky maker Euan Kennedy. 344 decanters were made, at a launch price of £77,391. The Lalique crystal decanter carries Andrew Davidson's etched illustrations and is presented with an 800-page illustrated book.
